Continuous Output (effective)

In counterpoint to a temporary output (peak), the continuous output describes the performance of an electricity source that is issued continuously and without a time restriction. The continuous output is one of the general terms associated with power and hence is indicated in watts.

CrossFire

CrossFire refers to a function in which multiple graphics cards are operated within one computer. The technology comes from AMD and is the equivalent to NVIDIA's SLI technology. Operating two graphics cards in a CrossFire configuration provides greater graphics card performance for the computer. All current dual GPU graphics cards from AMD are based internally on CrossFire.

Combined Power

Combined power refers to the max. (combined) power that for example the 3.3V and 5V rails can achieve together at the same time. This applies to the 12V rails as well if these are divided into several individual rails.

CPU

CPU is a common acronym for "Central Processing Unit". The CPU described a computer's primary processor.

C6

C6 refers to the deep power down mode on current Intel processors. The C6 command is used to switch off all unused processor cores in their entirety. The power control unit integrated into the process controls the core activities. The power gate integrated into the mainboard switches off the individual cores as required. This creates an intelligent energy saving function.

CFM

CFM refers to Cubic Feet per Minute and is a unit of measurement for the amount of air moved by a fan. As with the European cubic meter per hour, the British CFM indicates how much air is moved in a minute by one fan. The conversion between CFM and m³/h is performed by multiplying or dividing by a factor of 1.69.

To simplify international trade in electronic devices, the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) created the Certified Body scheme (CB scheme). The scheme was integrated in 1985 into the IEC.

The CE symbol is a logo confirming conformity with current EU regulations (CE comes from the French "Conformité Européenne"). A product bearing this testing symbol is confirmed as meeting specific product safety standards.
