After the gradual evolution from distributor to producer of exclusive PC components, be quiet! celebrates its 20th birthday with many new products at attractive prices. The company looks back on many highlights and valuable experiences, and owing to many new products in the development stage, looks positively into the future.

On account of new and innovative products, be quiet! records an annual turnover of 125 million euros for the first time. By that time, several products with subtle ARGB lighting exist, which position themselves as alternatives to mostly black products on the market.

The company headquarters move into new and bigger spaces in Glinde (near Hamburg, Germany). Apart from new PC cases and air coolers, a new water cooler is released. The Pure Loop boasts with its unique design and a good cooling performance.

be quiet! celebrates more than two million sold products in a year for the first time. The expansion into the North American market is driven by the opening of a branch in Walnut near Los Angeles in the US. At the end of the year 2019, be quiet! has over 100 employees.

be quiet! takes a leap into the fifth product category and launches the first compact water cooler. The Silent Loop is released, and it stands out especially because of its low volume. Unfortunately, for the first time in the history of the company, there are long-standing problems that cannot be resolved even after thorough analysis. As a result, the product is withdrawn from sales.

The first PC case Silent Base 800 is released. This is also a completely in-house developed product with a unique design. The high investments in production lines are rewarded with numerous awards. Consequently, the decision to develop further PC cases is taken.

Building on the Silent Wings USC fan, the first CPU air coolers are released. The high-end models Dark Rock Advanced and Dark Rock Pro are received very positively.

Owing to the sustainable growth, the leadership decides to withdraw from the distribution business to focus completely on the development of proprietary products.

be quiet! closes its retail customer business, while internalisation is advancing rapidly. Branches in Asia and Poland are opened.

Due to the constantly high demand for PC power adapters, which cannot be satisfied by the sale of other brands, be quiet! introduces its in-house developed power adapter "Blackline P4" onto the market.

The distributor for PC components "Listan" is founded in Reinbek (near Hamburg, Germany). The online shop, where retail customers can place their orders, is launched in July 2000. The brand "be quiet!" is founded in 2001 with the aim of developing PC components focusing on exceptionally quiet operation. The first product, which is released in 2002, are PC noise-dampening mats.
